7.10 Summary and evaluation of operations.

8. Duration of work
Commenced operations from 23 October 2010 - 5 December 2017

9. Method of operation

Set up a committee to carry out activities of the project which is selected from the organization or various agencies in the area to carry out activities in each province by making a tripartite or three-party agreement to be an organization in carrying out project activities with Green Country Project as the main organization together with the provincial educational institutions or other agencies that are ready to join or support the project according to availability.
To suit the urgency of forest restoration as soon as possible in accordance with the spirit of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) and the policies of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Advisory Director Board of Directors and the Green Country Project Operation Committee. Therefore, we passed a resolution to use the project's reforestation method to prevent and solve the flood problem including sustainable drought problems and reduce global warming according to the royal initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the 3 forestation, 4 benefits, reforestation, creating forest mountains and planting mangrove forests.

9.1 3 forestation, 4 benefits according to the royal initiative.

9.1.1 allocation of community land or existing arable land which is an area of a garden, a farm or a rice field with 3 types of classification as follows;

Type 1: Use the area around the boundary, community and arable areas by planting in an area of 30-50 percent along the boundary, community area and arable area.
Type 2 use any part of community area or arable area to clearly plant a forest by planting in the area of 30-50 percent.
Type 3 Use the area to grow as stripes or strips as appropriate.

9.1.2 Plant classification according to objectives by planting plants in the area as appropriate but to obtain the following elements for sufficiency and ecological benefits as follows; Planting to ensure sufficiency in terms of living. The trees are planted for using wood to build residential buildings such as teak, Takhianthong, Yangna, Mahogany, Acacia, Thep, Champathong, etc. Planting to ensure sufficiency in the aspect of eating is growing trees for use as food, herbal medicine, drink as well as plants grown for commercial purposes such as fruit trees such as rambutan, sato, durian, mangosteen, longkong, mango, etc., and wood that produces products for sale such as palm, coconut, rubber, etc. Planting to ensure sufficiency in terms of utilization is to plant trees for household use, energy use as various tools for occupation or agricultural tools such as bamboo, rattan for basketry, furniture, appliances, etc. Some types of fast growing wood for cutting branches to burn charcoal or used as firewood as well as wood used for construction and handicrafts such as cassia, padauk, krathin, giant and neem, etc. and energy sticks such as jatropha, palm, etc. Planting to benefit the ecosystem is to plant trees or grow a variety of plants systematically. This will help create the ecological balance in the land or in the garden that helps protect the soil surface to be moist, absorb rain water and reduce the severity of floods.

9.2 Reforestation according to royal initiatives which has methods of growing according to the geographic and environmental conditions of the suitable area as follows;

9.2.1 Reforestation in the compromised watershed forest area and degraded forest areas by accelerating the planting of fast-growing trees covering the waterways to make the moisture gradually spread out through the two channels. This will make it flourish and help prevent forest fires. After that, plant a fast growing tree in the next area. The moisture will spread further. The trees that are planted will flourish all year round.

9.2.2 Reforestation along the hillside by planting many types of trees to get the versatility of a fruit tree for construction and wood for firewood. When cut down used wood, trees should be planted immediately to replace.

9.2.3 Replanting the watersheds on the hilltop and high hills by planting perennials and planting trees used for firewood so that the people who plant and take care can be cut to use but need to have a replacement plant periodically. The perennials will help keeping the air moist which is one step of the natural raining system. It also helps to seize the soil on the hill not to collapse when it rains as well.

9.2.4 Reforestation in the reservoir area or above the reservoir that does not have enough moisture.

9.2.5 Reforestation for watershed and water resource development to have clean water to consume.

9.2.6 Reforestation to increase income for people by allowing local residents to take part in planting and caring for the trees to grow in order to cultivate the awareness of the people to see the importance of forest planting.

9.2.7 Reforestation to enhance nature in order to increase the habitat for wildlife.

9.3 Creating wild mountains according to royal initiatives which is the theory of forest restoration development in degraded mountains by using the basic knowledge of science and technology as the basis. There are 2 basis operations, which are;

9.3.1 Area with nearby water sources to create a small weir to slow down the moisture, also known as Check Dam blocking a channel in the upper reaches to store some water and sediment causing stored water to seep into the soil and spread the moisture widely on both sides for becoming a "wet forest" to help restore the high-altitude forest to be complete. The area will become a "wild mountain" in the future. This causes many types of trees to cover the soil at a dense rate and suitable for each terrain. Those trees will have the effect of helping to maintain the moisture level in nature to the right criteria. It is not too dry and it also helps holding the precious soil surface not to be eroded by water into the flat area as well.

9.3.2 On the areas without water sources, find a way to deliver the water to the highest point as possible by using natural energy pumps such as solar energy and wind energy to distribute water to gradually seep down and nourish the young plants. There are both fast growing plants and forest fire protection plants that can be replanted in the mountains at any time, especially during the dry season. When the seedlings have grown moderately until they are able to withstand drought conditions In the future, the mountains in the area will be restored. It will fairly moist forest mountain as well as helps restore the environment in the lower part to not become a dry land.

9.4 Mangrove planting or mangrove forest by building new forests and replanting the original mangrove forests that have been destroyed in order to prevent and resolve the long-term downstream flooding problems as well as to prevent erosion of coastal areas.

10. Responsible agencies

Green Country Foundation is the main agency who is responsible for the project with support from various departments or organizations both public and private sectors.

11. Expected results
11.1 Thailand has more than 10 million rai of forests within a period of 17 years and new forests continue to emerge.

11.2 Government agencies, various organizations, farmers and people have awareness and be aware of global warming and environmental problems and be ready to cooperate to help reduce and solve such problems including the birth of a local organization in the conservation of natural resources and the environment at the university level, district and community.

11.3 Support the planting of economic trees in Thailand by promoting seriously from government agencies to increase farmers' annual income from reforestation and have a better quality of life. It also helps to increase the green area for the country.

11.4 Uniting the hearts of Thai people from all sectors to show loyalty to the monarchy by using the name which are uniting the hearts to plant 984 million trees, preserving natural resources and the environment join to build the green country, restoring happiness to the forest, and the Pracharath volunteer to restore the forest in organizing activities or organizing events nationwide.
